McKenzie View

Spring Container Planting Bonanza by Noah Guadagni

Spring2019.jpg

We’ve been on a planting spree!

New spring container plantings on McKenzie View to make a personal paradise on earth! Planting palette is pink/white base with pastel blue and purple touches, aaaaaand a couple drops of red and yellow. Nice.

These containers are 95% deer-resistant perennials by the way (sorry pansies, you’ll be the first to go) and sure enough a deer came bouncing by to check us out while we were planting. It’s cool, the plants just have to last til Good Friday tomorrow and then it’s a race to see who can fill up the potting soil with roots first.

By June only the strongest will survive, and as plants start to fail they are removed and replanted into the landscaping, where they will live out their years.

Also bonus footage of the the highly fashionable Scribbler Moth feeding on a Kalmia mountain laurel.
